WHO WE ARE

italia-banner.png

Ciao Magazine is a global platform for art, culture, and lifestyle in Italian, English and Spanish language. Our stories and articles overcome all national and cultural barriers and are about the beauty that can be found in any form of art, and in people and places all over the world. Although physically apart, everyone at Ciao Magazine shares the same passion and philosophy of life.

The website was launched in July 2018 after the marvellous adventure of Ciaopraga, a bi-monthly online magazine which, in two years of activity, proved to be an effective meeting point between the Czech and the Italian culture.

Ciao Magazine offers a broader view, as our 70 + contributors are based in different parts of the world: from Seattle to Hong Kong, from Trieste to Palermo, from Colombia to Australia. They are directly in touch with the life, places, people, and experiences that become the thread of the lively storytelling typical of our magazine, renowned for its quality articles, interviews, reviews, and photo/video reports.

A contemporary design and a careful selection of topics show our attention towards an audience that doesn’t like feeding on hit-and-run information but, on the contrary, wants to savour unusual and interesting articles, sharing with us the emotions that gradually shape our lifestyle.

Besides this platform, we are also actively present on various social networks, becoming thus part of one big global family.

Articles, interviews, reviews

Ciao Magazine is always on the lookout for new and exciting articles and interviews on lifestyle, art, culture, travel, that are able to tell a unique and interesting story. The complete article or interview must be original, well-written, and relevant to the topic. We invite you to visit our blog to get an idea of our style and the work we publish.

We also accept reviews of books, exhibitions, films, etc. They must be original pieces, with a particular and personal angle, which reveals a thorough knowledge of the subject proposed.

Submissions should be in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx), in Arial, 12pt, and maximum of 1000 words. If images are included (subject to approval), only .jpg or .gif formats will be accepted.

Photos

If relevant, we also publish photo essays that are able to 'tell a story'. Please send us a collection of images (.jpg or .gif) showing the curatorial intent and direction, together with an introduction of about 100 words, contextualising your work. Before publication, the holder of the rights to the images must complete and sign a release form provided by our editorial office.

Literary section

For our literary section, we are interested in short stories (memoir and fiction). As we believe that different voices make stories richer and more unique, we welcome – also for this section – submissions from all marginalised people including, but not limited to, people of colour, with disabilities, LGBT and gender non-conforming people. We are open to all aesthetic and stylistic approaches but place particular importance on fresh, honest, informed and good writing. Please send a maximum of 2,500 words in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx), in Arial, 12pt.

Please note: For each of the above sections, if submissions do not meet our quality standards, they will not be published. For submissions that will be published, the editors reserve the right to edit the text and make any changes before publication.

ONLY submissions that comply with our editorial policy will be notified by email within 14 days.

Emerging Talents

For a nominal fee, a special space at www.ciaomag.com is reserved for selected emerging talents: authors, writers, poets, artists, actors, and musicians who wish to highlight their work can do so through our pages. Send us your profile and we will take care of the rest!
